DEAR EDITOR, To personalize chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) pulmonary rehabilitation programs, the American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society guidelines advise performing an initial functional assessment. The six-minute walk test (6MWT) is one of the field walking tests recommended to measure functional exercise performance. However, the 6MWT requires a 30 m obstacle-free corridor and a familiarization test, and it takes time.
