Abstract
The Circle U. Knowledge Hub on Climate aims to explore how universities can contribute knowledge and solutions to the pressing issues of climate change. It serves as both a physical and virtual space for students and staff to co-create knowledge and solutions across various disciplines with a particular focus on transdiscplinary research involving external stakeholders. During the pilot phase, the Knowledge Hub tested different approaches to shape the future structure of a sustainable Climate Knowledge Hub within the realm of Circle U. Activities included i) the mapping of the Climate research expertise in Circle U ; ii) the organisation of thematic seminars related to Climate ; iii) the organisation of Circle U short term hybrid seminars (Increasing climate resilience in urban settings / increasing climate resilience through innovative water management) ; iv) the organisation of summerschools targetting bachelor and master students (summer school on communicating climate science / summer school on climate policy) ; v) the organisation of training for climate change adaptation practicioners ; vi) prototyping joint courses and master programmes, and joint research proposals. In my role as the UCLouvain Chair for the Climate Hub, I contributed to the organization of a summer school on climate communication and policy and on thematic seminars, enhancing climate resilience in urban settings. In this pitch, I will illustrate these activities with two specific examples.
