Abstract
Today, the main part of this event is an exhibition that explores both the concrete structural aspects of places of worship and the role of communities of believers in defining Christian worship. The approach is both historical and ecumenical, with the use of photographs and liturgical objects. The other part of this event, the roundtable, reflects on “Ecumenical Perspectives on the Spaces of Christian Worship in Belgium.” We have brought together Professor Arnaud Join-Lambert (Professor of Practical Theology and Liturgy at UCLouvain), Reverend John Wilkinson (Canon Pastor at Holy Trinity Brussels, former President of Brussels Interchurch Committee, and specialist in Christian history and liturgy), and Florence Cosse (an architect specializing in ecclesiastical space design, active in France and Belgium). All three will discuss and share their experience and expertise in space and worship, highlighting major current trends in the articulation of liturgical spaces and practices, and identifying specific features of these contemporary trends in relation to Christian architectural traditions.
