(2023) The 13th Braga Meetings on Ethics and Political Philosophy — Location: Centre for Ethics, Politics and Society (CEPS) at the University of Minho (Braga, Portugal) (15.June.2023)
A presentation arguing that Identity Reflexivity and Identity Skills are necessary (although insufficient) conditions for the long-term realization of the ideal of public reason in a context of political polarization. Political polarization is entrenched in the very identities of those forming opposite “camps”; only an other-regarding destabilization of these identities could help these citizens see each other as reasonable agents again.
