Abstract
This paper discusses the strengths, limitations and potential of three future computer-aided approaches for three-dimensional graphic statics. It concludes that a fully three-dimensional extension of graphics statics would create new possibilities for dealing with complex 3D structures during both the design process and structural analysis.
