DEVELOPMENT OF BENCHMARK C-BASED ACID CATALYSTS FOR LIGNOCELLULOSIC BIOMASS CONVERSION INTO 5-HMF
Lignocellulosic biomass has been recognized as a promising renewable resource for the production of a number of key commodity chemicals. Among the possible products that can be obtained from its degradation, 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF) is a high added-value platform chemical that must be recovered and valorized. Hence, the interest in developing benchmark carbon-based catalysts as a reference for the novel materials developed within the EOS Phospore framework.
