- Abstract
- (en) The general situation of Africa is marked by political, economic, social and cultural crises. These conflicts illustrate the difficulty of "living together" in the young states, worked with dissension and rivalry for power between ethnic groups easily manipulated by political actors untrained in democratic practices. Although the internal crises are sufficient to trigger these conflicts, external factors are involved in the genesis as well as in the development of conflicts. The recurrent crisis is a fatality for the African continent? In our work, it seemed appropriate to go beyond the dramatic stories that make the media and look at the causes of this outbreak of violence. We wanted to ask ourselves about the conditions for an ethic of reconciliation and forgiveness. Rethinking the pastoral practice of the Church in Africa is, on the one hand, consider the issues that men and women arise, namely how God relates to the conditions of violence and poverty in which they live, and secondly, to rediscover the meaning of suffering and how Christianity can be an experience of salvation and social liberation that offers the kingdom of God as the horizon.
