Abstract
The judicial interpretation of law is guided by a preconception which attributes ideal properties to law in general. One can wonder whether such assumptions also play a part beyond the field of legal interpretation. Recent court decisions concerning the application of norms which belong to soft law reveal that such a preconception also plays a part in the judgments which recognize the legal validity of those norms.
