Abstract
This special issue of estetica. studi e ricerche is primarily dedicated to the rela- tionship between sound and image in audiovisuals. The all-pervasive presence of the audiovisual characterizes our times. Sounds and (moving) images coexist to produce audiovisual cultural space, which is not yet sufficiently investigated. The audiovisual has its own, complex sense-giving dimensions that obliges human beings to recode and rethink their relationship between reality, perception, and sense-building.
