Abstract
This paper presents a probabilistic model for the service life assessment of bridge deteriorating truss. Damage evolution of each structural member is dealt as a transition process through different states of performance. The transition process is modeled as a Markovian renewal process which formulation allows considering eventual improvements of the structural performance. In this way, the model is used to set up selective maintenance and/or rehabilitation interventions. Then the preventive maintenance scenarios selected are economically compared. © 2012 Taylor & Francis Group.
