Abstract
(en) While the question of the ordination of women in the Catholic Church is not open for discussion — except for ordination to the diaconate — the situation has not advanced much further when it comes to non-ordained ministries. Meanwhile, there are no theological impediments in the case of non-ordained ministries and, since 2021, no restrictions in terms of Church law. The hypothesis of the article is that women's ministries challenge deeply-rooted cultural and religious imaginations and representations. The presence of women (both their physical presence as well as the symbolic presence of Biblical women in the Lectionary) in the sanctuary of our churches is a fundamental dimension of the “problem” of the place of women in the Church in general.
