Abstract
Professor Buchanan's article on the Theory of Clubs provided a most interesting extension of the theory of public goods.So interesting in fact that the problem seemed worth reexamination. After recalling Buchanan's solution, this note will discuss under what conditions it is valid, and what are the solutions, if any, for other cases. It concludes with a discussion of the significance of the theory of clubs for the more general case of public goods.
