In the current setting of highlighting the clinical and prognostic importance of the right ventricle in innumerous diseases, the present thesis sought to contribute to the current state-of-the-art by addressing part of the gaps in evidence of validation and clinical application of deformation imaging modalities and pulmonary transit time by cardiac magnetic resonance in predicting outcome in heart failure and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Accordingly, this work was aimed to first evaluate the variability day-to-day of these widely used deformation imaging techniques and of the pulmonary transit time by cardiac magnetic resonance. Secondly, to investigate the additional prognostic value of these techniques in HFrEF in direct comparison with cardiac magnetic resonance. This research work contributes to the advancement in the field of deformation imaging techniques and pulmonary transit time clinical implementation.
