The present work intends to reflect about a series of matters concerning the theory of drive in Fichte's philosophy. Moreover, the concept of drive is to be seen as a factor that enables our thought about the notion of desire. From Fichte through the work of French philosopher Henri Maldiney, our fields of interest are transcendental idealism, phenomenological psychopathology and psychoanalysis. As a result, we'll conclude that drive by itself, that is, conceived without any linkage to the symbolic order, may lead to self-activity mechanicism. Hence, our research intends to elaborate different approaches to a necessary Self-limitation that may structure the inscription of the subject in the recognition of its own desire.
