(en) [Direct patient access to shared electronic patient record Presentation of the project implemented at Saint-Luc University Clinics] Our project developed by the Saint-Luc Universitary Clinics enables a group of chronic patients to directly access their electronic hospital medical record. Our objective was to test the usability of the software and analyze the impact of this direct access on both the patient himself and the relationships he had with the physicians (specialists and family practitioners). The results were very encouraging, as this study revealed clear benefits for the patients (easy access to their results, better understanding of their health data, and possibility to monitor their medical care), while their relationships with the physicians did not significantly change. Given this direct access to their patient files, the patients did not encounter any major problem and the physicians did not experience any increase in workload.
