This article deals first of all with two exegetical works devoted to the theme of the law: one, edited by C. Focant La loi dans l'un et l'autre testament, and P. Beauchamp's D'une montagne a l'autre. La loi de Dieu. On the basis of this presentation, the author starts a reflection on the existing relationship and the relationship which is to be established between Scripture and morals and continues with the question of the relationship between autonomy and theonomy. He concludes by inviting exegetes and moralists to work more closely together-this would allow the development of the hermeneutical dimension of moral theology, indispensable dimension for a selected conception of the relationship between Scripture and ethics.
