(en) Which influences the Reformation, since 1517, has had on the Roman Catholic Church? This short study will give some examples. The Roman Catholic Church first has reacted "against" the Reformation by defending, in a sometimes unilateral way, doctrines which seemed at that time to be contested by Protestantism (the “priesthood”/sacerdotium of priests, the “sacrificial” dimension of Eucharist, the real Eucharistic presence of Christ). Afterwards, one reminds of all what the ecumenical dialogue with the Protestants during the XXth century has enabled the Roman Catholic Church to reinforce in herself (the importance of the Word of God in its written form, the gratuitous nature of the grace of salvation, a more synodical ecclesiastic life, the relationships with the modern world).
