This chapter shows how learner corpora can be used to help design pedagogic applications. Section 1 contains a brief description of learner corpora and addresses some of the key issues in learner corpus collection and analysis. Four types of learner corpus-informed pedagogic applications are then presented in Sections 2 to 5, viz. grammar books, learners’ dictionaries and writing aids, automatic assessment, annotation and rating, and finally pre- and in-service teacher training for non-native teachers. The final section of the chapter offers suggestions for further reading.
