(en) While the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability) are now widely endorsed, their implementation remains challenging in fields where data reuse depends on information partially visible in publications. In Learner Corpus Research (LCR), articles typically foreground findings and analytical methods, while aspects such as data collection and annotation are not consistently reported.
This article contributes to the Reusability principle by introducing a literature-reviewing methodology to support the development of a reusability checklist. Here, "reusability checklist" refers to a question-based framework intended to encourage explicit reporting in research articles of key information necessary for data interpretation and reuse.
Complementing recent methodological syntheses in the field, our initiative aims to increase the visibility of data-oriented information in articles. To this end, we developed an annotation framework to capture the presence, absence, and degree of explicitness of data-centred reporting practices. The proposed reviewing methodology, therefore, serves not only as preparatory work for a future checklist but also as an initial contribution to understanding how data-relevant reporting is currently operationalized in LCR publications.
