Abstract
(en) This paper examines the pedagogical value of the SiMoSi business game for ambidextrous management education. Ambidexterity refers to the simultaneous development of exploitation capabilities (efficiency, optimization, operational excellence) and exploration capabilities (innovation, experimentation, new business models, and radical change). This paper analyzes (1) the value of the game in its current form for ambidextrous learning, and (2) the added value of proposed and potential future developments. We argue that the simulator’s unique integration of operational, financial, strategic, and social dimensions—combined with immersive, longitudinal gameplay— makes it a particularly powerful platform for ambidextrous management education, while future developments can significantly strengthen its exploratory learning potential.
