This article provides a concise analysis of the 2024 European elections in Belgium. These elections coincided with the federal and regional elections, pushing European issues into the background in favor of national political dynamics. Despite Belgium holding the presidency of the Council of the EU, the electoral campaign remained largely focused on domestic concerns. The election was marked by a rejuvenation of the electorate, with the voting age lowered to 16, and a slight increase in voter turnout. The results confirmed the rise of the far-right (Vlaams Belang) in Flanders, the victory of the MR among Francophones, and the decline of the Greens. European issues remained in the background of the debates, with some prominent themes such as migration policy and budgetary rules, but they failed to become a central concern for Belgian voters.
