Abstract
Opening words to the public launching event of a research project founded by the Belgian Funds for Scientific Research (FNRS), called 'The Cradle of War Crimes?', within the Welchange program. The project is run in collaboration by the UCLouvain and the ULiège. The workshop was held at the UCLouvain, campus Saint-Louis (Brussels). Six papers were presented by the participants.
