Feedback has always been at the heart of learning. Yet, the ways in which it is given and received are changing rapidly in today’s human-machine era. Building on findings from recent projects carried out in the TeAMM research group, this talk explores how feedback is being reshaped by new practices and/or technologies. No longer limited to written comments or spoken corrections, feedback can now appear as real-time prompts, visual cues, or AI-generated suggestions. It can also be offered across languages, opening up genuinely multilingual feedback practices. Such changes raise important questions (e.g. how can we ensure that such feedback remains supportive, fair, and truly helpful for learners? how can we keep learner and teacher agency at the center rather than letting algorithms take over?) The talk will reflect on current research and sketch possible futures for feedback in increasingly multilingual and technology-rich classrooms.
