Abstract
(en) In contemporary theology, the notion of hospitality depends, in the first place, on the reception that the theme, understood in various senses, has had in society and culture (1. Polysemy, plasticity, tensions). Its topicality is due to a geopolitical reality at the beginning of the 21st century that concerns Europe and North America, namely the migratory crisis, as well as to the flood of reflections and positions that this crisis has generated (2. Political topicality). With regard to migration, we must ask ourselves whether contemporary theology provides a response commensurate with the issues at stake (3. Theological contribution). Finally, it seems useful to mention two original reflections on hospitality, by Jean-Yves Lacoste and Jean-Louis Chrétien, which contemporary theology can rightly consider as promises (4. Stones of expectation).
