Abstract
Following the recent discovery of the Rice stripe necrosis virus (RSNV) in Burkina Faso (Sereme et al. 2014) and Benin (Oludare et al. 2015), a targeted rice-associated soil sampling campaign was launched in January 2016 in order to assess the presence of RNSV and its vector in Mali. Forty-six samples were collected from rain fed rice (Oryza sativa) from three places around Bamako where RSNV-like symptoms had been reported.
