Abstract
We have used a dedicated NEGF quantum simulation platform to investigate the physics and sensitivity of Si nanowire FET DNA sensors scaled close to the technological limit. The question we sought to answer was what are the true opportunities and challenges to detect a single DNA molecule. Such analyte features a small amount of charges whose impact on the transducer behavior can be further reduced due to ion and oxide charges screening.
