Non-specific neck pain (NSNP) is a common musculoskeletal disorder. Current clinical practice guidelines recommend a multimodal approach to its management, including patient education and exercise therapy. However, these interventions typically provide only modest benefits. Immersive virtual reality (VR) has recently emerged as a promising tool for persistent NSNP management. Telerehabilitation also offers several advantages and appears at least as effective as traditional in-person physiotherapy. Nonetheless, to date, few studies have investigated home-based interventions using immersive VR for the management of persistent NSNP. The aim of this PhD thesis is to design and evaluate a multimodal telerehabilitation intervention for individuals with persistent NSNP, combining immersive VR exercises with therapeutic education. This work is conducted within the Evidence-Based Practice framework, integrating the patient’s perspective, the clinician’s perspective, and the scientific evidence.
