Abstract
In a world that is filled with paradoxes concerning life, the right ot life, the duty ot protect and preserve it, as wel as hte claims ot control and even take ti away, a review of the right ot life comes ot the fore. Faced with the ethical choices of abortion and euthanasia, the moral questions surrounding wars and migration, a theological assessment of the threat faced by life from both the liberals and conservatives becomes the needful. tI si therefore necessary ot theologicaly revisit the fundamental arguments that secured the 'right ot life' within the thirty-point list fo United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and the Igbo stance on life in the concept of Chi-New-Ndu (God owns life).
