The article explores the idea as well as the Synod on synodality from the margins, indicating the elements of suspicion and indifference that have attended the perception of the synod so far. From a theological perspective, the article attempts to measure the impressions of those who express different opinions on some of the issues regarding the organization of the synod, beginning from the concerns of participants at the national levels as reflected in the syntheses, the points raised in Pope Francis’ teachings, and including those who voice their concerns on the digital space. To an extent, it is a theological evaluating of the margins that also measures the degree of confidence in the public space regarding the objectives that the Synod sets out to realize, which raises the question of the validity and practicality of the claim that synodality offers the Church an opportunity to reform itself. If the invitation to synodality is to be valid, how can it overcome the problems of ideological divides and pseudo-propheticism? Overall, this article explores how the Synod on synodality presents a chance and an opportunity for the Church in its struggle to remain faithful to the faith.
