Abstract
(en) [50 years of IASP: Reviewing the vitality of pain research and contributions from the French-speaking world] For this first issue of 2024, the editors felt that circumstances called for an article to celebrate a number of events. Douleur et analgésie is the leading French-language journal for clinicians and researchers working in the field of pain. It is the official organ of the Société française d’étude et de traitement de la douleur (French Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain) and is also an affiliate of the Swiss and Belgian societies. As for our Canadian partners, we are delighted to have the support of our Quebecois colleagues, who have enriched our editorial team through their dynamic research. We are therefore delighted to welcome John Libbey Eurotext as the new publisher of the journal. This will enable us to continue to develop the journal and offer readers new content. This new edition of the journal now includes a quarterly press review. The first issue of the year is longer than usual as it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and some of the French-speaking personalities who have contributed to its development. You will therefore find a few tributes at the beginning of the press review. The press review will take stock of the articles that have been most frequently quoted over the last 50 years. We will then discuss 5 major articles from 2023, before presenting the first “nuggets” from the first quarter of 2024.
