Introduction : Groundwater is subjected to many pressures, groundwater dependent functions and services Groundwater protection and management implies an in depth knowledge of the state of the available groundwater resource (quantity quality) and groundwater vulnerability (likelihood of being negatively affected) Groundwater monitoring and modelling approaches are available to assess the state and vulnerability of groundwater.
