Abstract
Downsbrough’s work is based on ideas of relation, context and shifting functions and meanings rather than engaging with traditional (modernist) values such as autonomy, medium specificity and uniqueness. This article discusses the implications of such an aesthetic concept for the relationship between photographic still images and moving filmic images.
