Abstract
(en) The European Court of Human Rights has declared inadmissible the application of a man who was stripped of his Danish nationality following his conviction for terrorism offenses and subject to a deportation order. Declaring the application “manifestly unfounded” at the admissibility stage, the Court confirmed its earlier case law, leaving a very wide margin of appreciation to States in deciding to deprive a citizen of his nationality for reasons of public order, in particular when these reasons are linked to the fight against terrorism, and also confirms that individual rights have little weight in the face of this very broadly defined objective
