Abstract
Affect anchored to the parenting context ebbs and flows. This study used affective dynamic indices to examine whether the way parenting affect fluctuates relates to parental dysfunction. By reanalyzing daily diary data from 180 parents, we found that inertia (i.e., persistence) of emotional distance predicts parental burnout severity.
