Abstract
Researches on Robert Maillart (1872-1940)'s design methods disclosed fundamental elements of design linked to Graphic Statics and a specific role to be given to reinforced concrete at Maillart's times. These early researches, awarded by the Premio Benvenuto 2008, led to extend Maillart's method to develop historical methods of Graphic Statics and contemporary extensions to address specific design issues as developed in the Structures & Technologies LAB of the UCLouvain for the past ten years.
