Abstract
The chapter discusses different strategies of presenting ‘unimaginable evils,’ in particular: 1) developing new concepts, 2) presenting the scale of suffering in numeric terms, 3) describing the scale of horror mimetically through linguistic or visual means. Those strategies are subsequently analyzed on Jasenovac, the biggest WWII concentration camps on the territory of ex-Yugoslavia. Using historical sources and media reports, authors compare these strategies in Croatian and Serbian context.
