Abstract
Even Bible passages that seem simple from a linguistic point of view can present translators with difficult choices. This is the case, for example, with Deuteronomy 34:6, the verse that recounts the burial of Moses. For Bible translators, this has proved to be an unmanageable verse, which becomes clear when comparing different translations. While according to some translators, JHWH buried Moses himself, for others this anthropomorphic representation seems to be a bridge too far.
