- Abstract
- The purpose of the GREgORI Project is to provide scholars with tagged corpora available online. The Project largely concerns texts in the main languages of the Christian East (Greek, Armenian, Georgian, Syriac, etc.). After a general overview of the GREgORI Project, the talk will focus on some concrete achievements in connection with 1) the corpus of Gregory of Nazianzus in Greek (a part of the GREgORI Project corpus), 2) the corpus of Ephrem of Nisibis in Syriac (a part of the eCSCO corpus), and the CGPG corpus (involving some texts from Migne's Patrologia Graeca still unavailable in electronic form). It also addresses the issues of text recognition and acquisition (from manuscripts, printed texts, or computer files), lemmatization, POS-tagging, and building linguistic resources for an effective processing of under-resourced languages (such as Armenian and Georgian).
