Abstract
This article seeks to sketch a methodology that enables lawyers to draw on the social sciences to shape a legal science which does not entirely rest on lawyers' shoulders. In this respect, three concentric circles need to be distinguished. The first circle is the law as an object of study, the subjectmatter of legal literature ("doctrine"), which represents the second circle, which is in turn surrounded by a third, broader circle - legal science.
