Abstract
Is it possible for the inclusive dialogue between people of diverse backgrounds in informal adult education to benefit from the community practice of philosophy? Can the latter offer a contribution to individual, community and social empowerment? These are the questions in the light of which the team of the project “Philosophy and Community Practices” carried out its activities, making use of the dialogical methodology linked to M. Lipman and A.M. Sharp’s “Philosophy for Children”. Such educational methodology was both proposed as a practical activity to the project’s participants and theoretically studied by the research team. The book presents the outcomes of this project, which aimed at achieving a critical lens for the analysis and assessment of community practices and for envisioning further possibilities of philosophical inquiry.
