- Abstract
- Starting from the author's researches on Robert Maillart's design methods - that received Benvenuto Prize in 2008 - the author will present the main results and explain the latest developments on this research. From this knowledge, rooted in construction history and history of engineering sciences, the author will present the work made with his team to extend these approaches for design purposes. More particularly, the theoretical background for exceptional designs to emerge, and works in extending graphic statics through interactive computer tools, will be exposed.
