Abstract
The application of emerging sharp interface high-order methods to complex flow problems is strongly linked with the ability of representing interfaces dynamics with high accuracy. In this work, we propose to develop efficient and high-order reinitialization and extension strategies for the level-set method in the framework of the discontinuous Galerkin method (DGM). The methodology is combined with a state-of-the-art extended DGM (XDGM), which requires special considerations to be consistently applied to moving interface problems. Several verification test cases demonstrate the potential of the proposed approach while identifying future developments in order to benefit from its high resolution features in complex multiphase flow situations.
