Ex 4:24-26 is one of the most obscure texts of the Old Testament. Rather than suggesting an entirely new interpretation of the present pericope, this article aims to demonstrate that the intentionally created and maintained vague in this text originates from a conscious narrative strategy which values simultaneously both the incomprehensibility of God and the transitory situation of Moses.
