Abstract
(en) The Bible is offered to every human conscience, whether one comes to it out of curiosity or under the motion of a thirst for God. In this sense, the Bible is open to an infinite variety of readings. In another sense, the Bible obliges. Anyone who claims to explain it must relate it to what she is talking about, namely God and the relationship he establishes with his own people. Historical and literary study, however essential it may be, is not enough to make the truth in the Bible, which refers to the ultimate of our lives, heard. The Bible is born of faith in the God of Israel and Jesus Christ and, from scriptures to rewritings, is transmitted to generate in new situations the faith of the new generations. To understand the Bible, it is necessary to take note of its theological nature: for the Church, it is the text of revelation which, through the act of tradition, brings about a relaunch of its meaning. This forces the exegete and the dogmatician to cross paths in the space of exchange of biblical theology, which links the Bible to the life of faith today.
