- (en) This article aims to deepen the understanding of the modes of articulation between aesthetics and nature for the composition of a new technique within Marcuse’s philosophy. Such a relationship becomes clear when answering the following questions: (a) What is the role of aesthetics in understanding nature? (b) How this aesthetic dimension allows us to think of a liberating use of science and technology? In order to answer such questions while I demonstrate my hypothesis of the central role of classical aesthetics in Marcuse’s notion of technology, my argument will be developed over three major sessions, namely: (1) Kant and Schiller: Between Beauty and Freedom ; (2) The Aesthetic Dimension ; (3) Marcuse’s Readings on Technology.
