- Abstract
- The contemporary western world, heir of the rupture with the Christian tradition, moves amidst fragments of what once was its conceptual scheme. The Nietzschian declaration of the death of God prophetically seals that rupture, opening the doors to what David Bentley Hart would call the only possible service after Christianity: the cult of ultimate subjectivity, that is, the cult of nothing. Recovering the Augustinian vision of the two cities, as proposed by John Milbank, is the path here chosen to redeem the diference to which the Christian Mythos invites and the eventual hope that feeds it.
