This presentation attempts to discuss the concept of revelation, considering it as philosophical problem. Judaism carries within itself a distance towards history, since redemption is not to be found within history itself, it is "unberechenbar". Is this distance towards history necessary and correct, or should we return to history to actively bring about and anticipate redemption? I want to argue that Rosenzweig’s concept of redemption can be read as an answer to this question.
