- This invited talk consists of two parts. The first part presents the linguistic situation in Belgium and the context of learning foreign languages in French-speaking Belgium, through traditional foreign language education and through Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). The second part presents a case study on the acquisition of intensifying constructions (cf. Hendrikx 2019) with three studies investigating the role of cross-linguistic differences and the impact of CLIL.
