Abstract
(en) Previous work on doctoral persistence has shown the importance of satisfying the three basic needs of human beings (autonomy, competence and affiliation). This contribution questions the effects of lock down and, more specifically, of radical changes in the associated work modalities on the personal and professional balance of eleven Belgian doctoral students. The analysis reports reorganizations of singular priorities resulting from an interweaving of internal (emotional resources, life course) and external (family composition, peer support, promoter supervision) factors to the doctoral student. The loss of moments of informal exchange is unanimously deplored.
