Abstract
(en) Research conducted on PhD students has shown that persevering in a research degree requires a feeling of progression, a strong ownership of the project by the doctoral student, as well as a certain emotional balance. In the particular context of confinement (Covid-19), what forms does this commitment take and how are the different spheres of daily life and doctoral work articulated ? 55 doctoral students from Belgium and France answered a series of open-ended questions to help us understand how they experienced this period. The analysis reveals a variety of reactions that transcend borders, testifying to the singularity of their situation, similar patterns of adaptation, as well as distinct behaviors revealing distinct conditions of doctoral organization.
